Homedics needed a set of social-first video assets to promote a humidifier to pet owners, a key audience segment for the product. The content had to feel warm, trustworthy and lifestyle-led, while clearly communicating product benefits.
The Challenge
There was no budget for new product or lifestyle shoots, and the project had a tight turnaround. The content needed to feel natural and location-based, integrate pets convincingly, and maintain a premium tone, all without access to physical samples.
Approach
I proposed a hybrid workflow combining 3D product renders with curated lifestyle backplates. This gave full control over lighting, angles and consistency, while achieving the realism of an on-location shoot. Pet integration was handled through carefully selected stock footage and thoughtful compositing to ensure interactions felt believable.
The Result
Produced high-quality 3D product renders matched to natural lighting and real environments
Composited 3D assets into lifestyle footage using shadow catching, tracking and colour matching
Integrated stock pet footage through grain, motion and lighting alignment
Edited scenes to create a warm, pet-friendly narrative while highlighting key product benefits
Delivered final assets optimised for social and ecommerce use
Outcome
The videos were well received internally, with particular praise for how convincingly the product appeared to be filmed on location. The campaign added a lifestyle dimension to a technical product and successfully captured attention within the pet-owner segment.
