The Brief
Overview
Homedics had a good–better–best massage gun lineup and needed a set of promotional videos that presented each model clearly and consistently. With no photoshoot planned, the visuals needed to be created entirely in 3D while still feeling premium and aligned with the brand.
The Challenge
The team needed to respond quickly to market pressure, but without a photoshoot the only available assets were basic factory renders. These lacked brand quality and didn’t differentiate the models. The challenge was to create premium, coherent visuals that could be produced quickly and elevate the range above typical factory output.
The Approach
Using factory CAD models allowed me to build the entire range in 3D and create environments with intent. Each scene was designed to reflect the tier of the product while maintaining a consistent visual language across the range. This approach gave full control over lighting, materials and storytelling without relying on a photoshoot.
Visual Direction
A dark, tech-focused aesthetic engineered for a performance feel. Trading bright consumer backgrounds for stark key lighting and deep shadows, giving every device an individual identity while tying the whole product collection together

The Anatomy of the Project
Combining precise 3D animation, custom rigging, and dark lighting setups. The focus was on controlling speed and mechanical detail to showcase how each device moves and functions up close

Results
The Execution
Rendered and animated factory CAD models in Blender to create premium product visuals
Used geometry nodes to reinforce the hot/cold messaging through dynamic visual effects
Designed controlled 3D environments tailored to each product tier
Output each scene individually to allow flexible storytelling and editing
Created portrait and square versions optimised for social and retailer platforms
Built a consistent visual system across all videos to unify the range
The Solution
The videos drove a noticeable increase in engagement and product interest, and have continued to be used in subsequent years. The project demonstrated the value of 3D within the business, showing how it can deliver premium, flexible assets within tight timelines and budgets, opening the door to further 3D-led marketing opportunities.
